Doberman Island Republic

The Doberman Island Republic is a small three hundred acre republic which claims Fosters Island, off the coast of Maine. This small republic was founded with the intention of providing pure equality, freedom, and justice. The Doberman Island Republic is a Secessionist state.

The Capital of the DIR is called North Point, it is the Northern area of the Island, which is where the capital cabin of the Family of Power is located. The Largest city is the capital city of North State, Baikal, the second largest is South Point, which is the Electric Centre of the country.

Etymology

Doberman Island Republic was named in a voting by the Schmit and Parks family, the Doberman Island Republic's name comes from the islands near by. "Ripley", an island off the coast of Maine, is close to Foster Island, which is where the republic is located. Ripley is the name of a strong willed Doberman the founders once knew. They soon connected the fact that Dobermans are strong willed, cunning, and strong animals to the country and it's people. Thus the Doberman Island Republic was voted in as the official name.

History

Rockefeller Years

The Rockefeller family purchased the Island in the 1960's. In 1973, Mr. and Mrs. David Rockefeller placed a conservation easement on the property, it was then given to the state of Maine.

Formation. April 21st, 2013

Nathaniel P. and Alex S. both were searching for an Island to start a nation on, they looked at many islands but only one really popped out. It was later claimed and is now where the families govern.

FCN admission. April 21st, 2013

The DIR was admitted into the FCN early in the creation of the country after it had allied with it's first official ally,Jera-Empire.

Civil Political War. April 25th, 2013

The Doberman Island Republic in 2013 was in an uproar, the Forsman family proposed an exile of all Homosexuals in the nation, foreign nations attempted to help, but Man of Power Nathaniel P talked to William F and eventually they came to term. The two men formed the South State pact.

Gaining friends. May 5th, 2013

The DIR officially started a campaign to get as many allies as possible in order to increase foreign presence of the nation. The DIR is already planning on making a FCN court and office in both the capital and Rosvino.

Marxist - Leninist North State ban on specific media. June 2nd, 2013

North State as an individual state banned youtube videos from the youtuber known as "PewDiePie", from all Social Media devices. Dasmundie follows behind with the same ban, as does Rosvino, but, South State still allows them.

Dasmundie push to fully ban "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" from Dobermanian Television. June 10th, 2013

Dasmundie and Rosvino impose a ban on the show "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" due to the fact that Schmit family members think it's fan base is "trash". It will not be allowed there and they are now pushing for a nation wide ban by 2014.

The DIR created the MAA in case of the collapse of the FCN .

Leaving the FCN. June 17th, 2013

The DIR left the FCN after the leaders of the FCN voted that the organization was officially closed for good.

Bitcoins. June 18th, 2013

The Doberman Island Republic voted on changing the national currency to bitcoins. Bitcoins were proven to be much more efficient when it comes to trade and transactions over the standard Doberman Dollar.

The day there was no money. June 18th, 2013

The people of the DIR voted against bitcoins. The economy dropped and now the nation has no official currency.

Money and Economic boom. July 5th, 2013

The government finally agreed on an official currency, the currency uses metals formed into a periodic table coin.

Culture

The Doberman Island Republic is designed to be a boiling pot for cultures. Most of the population has European heritage, it's very diverse. The Forsmans are Italian, Irish, Polish, Dutch, German, British, etc. The Schmits are Luxembourgers, Polish, and Irish, the Parks are Slavic and Native America and the rest of the population is mostly German, Dutch, or British.

Religion

Census shows that religion in the Doberman Island Republic mainly consists of those that worship god. Religious groups in the DIR consist of Protestants (Orthodox and Baptist), Roman Catholics, and Deist. So far, there are no Agnostics or Atheists with citizenship to the Island.

Holidays

Seeing as there are many different religions in the DIR the government tries its best to separate itself from religion, for the sake of not combining church and state, national holidays mostly consist of all religions special days. Winter Hibernation lasts all through out December so that the Jewish and Christians can have both their religious days as breaks. All holidays listed here.

National Culture

The country has already created its own version of the English language which for the most part is used by everyone. The nation also has cuisine, education, and ceremonial differences to other nations which are used as a part of the Dobermanian culture. The education system differs from others because of its techniques, instead of trying to make citizens as smart as possible, they educate children on specific work related subjects in order to ready them for the working world. The cuisine usually consists of extremely spicy foods, mixed juice drinks, stews, and frozen desserts. The DIR also only allows organic food and does not allow American food imports. Ceremonies differ in the DIR because of the strict separation of church and state laws. Public celebration of a specific holiday is very frowned upon by the government, so in order to hold public parades, it must include members of all the major and minor religions. Weddings also have regulations, for one, polygamy and other forms of multiple spouse marriages are strictly illegal. There is no marriage license in the Doberman Island Republic either, people can get married as long as they follow the regulations of the government.

Government

The DIR's government styles itself as a Constitutional Semi-Monarchist Democratic Socialist Republic.

Citizens vote for a family to take a four year term in power, between the Schmit, Forsman, and Parks families. The citizens vote which child of which family becomes the countries leader. There are no electoral votes, the nation has an official counter count up every vote and tally them for the candidates.

Recently, due to reforms, the government made the position of "Secretary of Government" open to anyone voted into office, thus adding a Direct Democracy under the CSMDSR government.

The Argentum,much like the American cent, is the coin standard of the DIR's currency, it is Greek for the word Silver, which is the second most valuable low end coin in the DIR's economy. The Aurums is the back up standard for the paper money of the DIR which is Greek for Gold, the second most valuable high end coin in the DIR's economy.
